Ganderbal, 02 Jan: As you all heard Mr. Omar’s press conference today, several important questions were raised. However, our primary focus remains on one key issue concerning the people of Pulwama. Through comments and discussions, and as Mr. Omar himself highlighted during the conference, the people of Pulwama have expressed their concerns regarding the establishment of a new NIT (National Institute of Technology) in their area. Their apprehensions stem from the potential damage it could cause to their orchards and farmlands, which are their primary sources of livelihood.
Aijaz earnestly appeal to Mr. Omar, his administration, the Central Government, and the Governor’s Administration to reconsider the location of this proposed NIT. If it is to be shifted from Pulwama, the people of Ganderbal and Kangan stand ready with open arms to welcome it to our district. Ganderbal offers both the infrastructure and the enthusiasm to host this prestigious institution, ensuring progress without harming the delicate balance of livelihoods and nature.
Let this be an opportunity to bring development while respecting the sentiments and needs of every community. Together, we can pave the way for a brighter and more inclusive future.
